Field Visit to San Jose Disability Support Camp

Our team visited the disability support camp to assess accessibility and support needs for children with learning disabilities. This visit strengthened our commitment to inclusive education and informed our program development for students with diverse learning needs.

During the visit, we conducted facility tours, interviewed staff members, observed student interactions, and assessed available resources. We identified key opportunities to enhance accessibility and create more inclusive tutoring environments. The insights gained will help us develop specialized training for volunteers working with students with learning disabilities.

Tutoring Program Expansion Reaches 350 Students

Thanks to our dedicated volunteers and generous donors, we've expanded our tutoring programs to support 350 students across five school districts. This milestone represents a 133% increase from our Year 1 target and demonstrates the power of community collaboration.

Our expanded programs now include specialized support for students with learning disabilities, English language learners, and students preparing for standardized assessments. We've also launched evening and weekend tutoring sessions to accommodate working families and students with complex schedules.

Volunteer Recruitment Drive Brings 75 New Mentors

Our spring volunteer recruitment campaign successfully brought 75 new mentors into our community. These passionate individuals are now receiving training and will begin tutoring students in reading, mathematics, and science.

The new volunteers represent diverse backgrounds and professions—from college students seeking service opportunities to retired educators wanting to give back. Their enthusiasm and commitment reinforce our belief that community members are eager to support educational equity when given meaningful opportunities to serve.

Tuition Assistance Program Reaches $250K Milestone

We're proud to announce that our tuition assistance program has distributed $250,000 to 150 families, removing financial barriers to education for hundreds of children. This achievement reflects the generosity of our donors and the dedication of our team.

The assistance covers tuition, school supplies, uniforms, and transportation costs. Families report that this support has reduced financial stress and allowed them to focus on their children's academic success. One parent shared: "This assistance changed our lives. My daughter can now focus on her studies instead of worrying about how we'll pay for school."
